I think there’s a poltergeist in my dorm. Now hear me out, this is what just happened to me this morning:
I finished taking a shower and went back to my room. I was the only one in my room. I spent about 30-45 min putting my clothes and shower stuff away, cleaning, and sorting my laundry. Sometime in the midst of all this, I took a bottle of lotion off my desk (that had been there for a few days) and put it on top of the bureau in my closet next to a bunch of other stuff. I distinctly remember doing this. A little while later, after packing more clothes, I was on my desk chair in front of my computer, leaning down under the desk to plug in my cell phone charger, when from above suddenly my lotion bottle fell right in front of my face. Note: I had to spend a few minutes plugging and unplugging cords to plug in my charger because my extension cord doesn’t have a lot of room. It was in the midst of doing this that it fell. I managed to catch it and I put it back. I was confused because I knew I had put it on my closet bureau on the opposite side of the room. I practically ran out of the room and into the lounge, not gonna lie. I wanted to tell the other girls on my floor about what just happened but I was worried they’d think I’m crazy.
I’ve never had anything that seemed paranormal happen to me like this. I’ve heard noises in my house before but I could always come up with a rational explanation. I have no non-supernatural explanation for this incident, though. What I find interesting too is the fact that the bottle fell right in front of my face when I was concentrating on sorting out my extension cord. It seemed like this poltergeist (assuming that’s what it is) did it to piss me off and maybe freak me out, and it definitely succeeded. Also, did the bottle fly across the room from my closet? I don’t know because I wasn’t looking in that direction when it happened.
Another thing: I live in a tower that has 22 floors, and I’m on the 21st. I’ve heard from other older students (I’m a freshman) that one or two people have jumped out of the window and killed themselves in the past, but I never actually heard it on the news or anything, and it happened a long time ago, so I don’t know if its just a rumor. I wouldn’t be surprised if it is true, though. I don’t know if the alleged suicides jumped out of my tower, because there are several other ones on campus and the people couldn’t tell me which tower it was.
I’ve also heard a few weird noises over the past few days that I discounted as just being other people, but now I’m not so sure.
Several days ago, I don’t remember when exactly, I was laying on my bed with my laptop when I heard noises coming from my roommate’s side of the room. They sounded vaguely like something shuffling on the floor, and like footsteps. I knew my roommate was not in the room, nor was anyone else. I was alone, so I logically assumed what I heard was coming from the hallway or one of the other dorm rooms on my floor. I have also heard, every few days and randomly, what sounds like someone slamming into my door, a "boom" noise. Once it happened when my sister and I were the only ones in my room, and she heard it too. We couldn’t figure out what it was exactly so we assumed it was someone out in the hallway hitting one of the other doors or something. Last night, I heard what sounded like my electric tea kettle boiling water, a humming "white-noise" sound, while I was trying to sleep. I assumed again that the noise, whatever it was, was coming from outside the windows, or from someone else’s room, even though it sounded like it was coming from close to my bed. I also heard vague banging coming from the ceiling and floor below me, although these I think were probably just people on the floors above and below me moving around and not anything paranormal.
All of the noises I’ve been hearing I’ve given logical explanations to. Only the "lotion incident" of less than an hour ago I cannot explain because I saw it clearly and knew that I put the bottle away only minutes before.
So, does this seem like poltergeist activity to you?
Do you have any advice for me?
